After hotel pickup, the first half of the excursion will take place in the colonial city of Taxco. You will board a private vehicle and start driving there. Taxco is situated in the mountains in the very heart of the country. It was declared a World Heritage city by the UNESCO. Thanks to strict building laws, new buildings have to preserve the same Spanish baroque architecture style to keep the atmosphere of the past.

You'll walk around the and admire its colonial style, such as the Temple of Santa Prisca, a church of more than 250 years old, built in the New World Baroque style that is an icon of the town. Learn from your guide about why it is the oldest mining center of the continent and how its silver mines have existed since the colonization. Today, in almost every corner of the town there are shops where you can buy silver jewelry produced in the region.

You will then head to Xochicalco that in nahuatl language means “Place of flowers.” This is also a World Heritage city, declared by the UNESCO. The most emblematic building in this ancient ceremonial center is the Temple of the feathered Snake because of the recognized reliefs of the ancient Mesoamerica. The Acropolis is also located here. You'll also see the astronomical observatory that was built to study the movement of the sun. Inside this observatory, a hallway and a large chamber with more than eight meters, allows the penetration of sun rays projecting on the floor of the cave a hexagon.

After exploring these two wonderful places, you will be dropped-off back at your Mexico City hotel.
